Robert La Fosse
Robert La Fosse, a Texas native, joined the American Ballet Theatre in 1977 where he danced as a principal dancer for nine years. He then joined the New York City Ballet as a principal dancer in 1986. Originating roles in works by Jerome Robbins, Twyla Tharp, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, and Peter Martins, La Fosse's career spans a gamut of classical repertory yet also includes numerous Broadway credits as well. An established choreographer, La Fosse was at Jacob's Pillow with his contribution to the collaborative effort The Seven Deadly Sins in 2001. This photo shoot occurred mere moments after his final curtain call, as he exited the stage covered in sweat and glitter and then kept on dancing right in front of my camera.
